Is this a background check?

No. Reference Checking collects structured feedback from the referees a candidate provides — it does not perform identity, criminal, credit, education, or employment-record verification.

How many referees can a candidate submit?

Up to five. After you send a request, the candidate signs in and adds each referee's name, email, role, company, relationship, and how long they worked together.

Can I send reference requests in bulk?

Yes. Select multiple candidates from the candidate list and send reference requests in one action. Requests can go to any candidate who hasn't been rejected.

Are referee responses scored by AI?

No. Referee ratings and written feedback are stored and displayed exactly as submitted. The consistency and email-domain flags are deterministic checks — comparing the candidate's claims against the referee's answers and the referee's email against the stated employer — not AI scoring.
